Women under attack – 2 killed, 1 raped
Friday, 14 November 2008
The St. Andrew Central Police were kept busy Friday morning responding to three reported incidents of violence against women.
In the first incident, Judith Lee, 42, who is believed to be a commercial sex worker, was found dead on an open lot along Seymour Avenue in St. Andrew.
The police theorise that Miss Lee was strangled to death by one of her clients.
While processing the scene where Miss Lee's body was found, they received another call to Ackee Walk in Kintyre, where a woman was shot dead.
The woman was outside her house just after 6.30 when she was accosted by armed men who shot her several times.
She died on the spot.
Her identity has not yet been released.
Meanwhile, a woman was raped and flung from a car along Palmetto Avenue in Mona.
The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse is investigating the incident.
